This is my first read of Ginsberg's poems aside from "Howl", and I have to say that I really liked him. My favorites were "America," " A Supermarket in California", and "A Transcription of Organ Music." I think Ginsberg captured the feel of this generation through his poetry so well. He is very good at invoking imagery of desolation and hope at the same time. There is humor and homages to people that have influenced, him and to his friends. You hear a lot about the wildness of the beat generation, but they asked many thought provoking questions that I think are still applicable today. I look forward to reading more from Ginsberg!
